Alarm

Our freelander doesn’t go anywhere , generally just towing the caravan. Last night out of the blue about 10pm the alarm goes off. Went out and it wouldn’t reset. Open and shut all doors and bonnets and tail gates still wouldn’t reset. I see in search it says about the bonnet catch and the heat. As I would need an auto electrician is this an expensive job, or can it just be disconnected. Let’s be honest nobody takes the blind bit of notice of car or house alarms anyway. Only in so much it gets on people nerves.

Thanks, looks like I can ask them to solder the 2 wires together. Sod’s Law it will all work ok when I take it to the garage. Just hope it’s an easy fix and nothing else.
Cheers thanks

I had same with intermittent alarms in daughters freelander 2, it was the occupancy sensor needed cleaning in headlining accessed by back seat. A quick cheap first check maybe?

Thanks I will have a look. I am waiting on the garage to call back when they have 5 minutes to have a look to see if it is an order parts job.

Just back from the garage. When they plugged in their machine it showed loads of random codes ,so they cleared the codes and said see if it happens again.

How old is your battery, random failures/error codes can be caused by low voltage during start procedure as the electronic modules struggle to initiate. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Hi, it was a new battery at Xmas. The garage wondered if that was why so many codes were on it. The garage was shut at Xmas so ended up at a supply and fit place.
