no beeping on blinker or parking.

Hi all,

So having had this fl2 se i6 for around 1½ year, I began to notice something is a little off.

When I use the blinkers, left or right, ther is no tik, tok, tik, tok...
When I reverse, the parkig system, front and rear, does not make a sound. I did change the module, and it seems to work, but no sound.

So, where does the sound come from?
Is it via all speakers, or is it a small speaker hidden somewhere?
Or something else?

I'd really like to solve it

All ideas and suggestions are most appreciated.

Kind regards,
Redfox.

The manual says that parking sensors sound via the speakers front and rear respectively. The indicators, headlamp and seatbelt warning sounds come from a sounder embedded in the instrument binnacle.

The indicator sound is definitely behind the instrument panel. It's a large hollow space behind it.

I put acoustic insulation in there & the indicators were quieter. Actually sounded more upmarket, less tinny.

Something I learnt after 10 years. Laughing If you want to increase or decrease the beeping volume while parking/reversing etc. While the beeping is sounding turn the hi-fi volume knob up or down. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

No beeping, no matter the volume.
No beeping when using blinkers.
No beeping when parking. Front or rear.

Where more precisely does that small speaker sit in behind the dash?

Cheers,
Redfox.

No idea. The manual says it’s part of the instrument package. I’ve read of people who’ve changed it but it isn’t shown as a discrete part. They’ve probably found markings when they disassembled it and bought a replacement.
As I said, the parking sensor beeps are supposed to come through the entertainment speakers and as others have said, they’re volume is raised and lowered by the volume control for the radio/cd player. Get up close to something and turn on the sensors and turn the volume up.

Will do, and report back.

To the best of my knowledge, the circle light cable stuff works, as the other elements on that system are working, say gps for example. I have had both front and rear fenders off, and sensors off, wires off, but couldn't see anything unusual, like a defect cable or the like.

Kind regards,
Redfox.

There is a fuse FB10 in rear fuse box according to this post.

There is a Park Assist Module, have you any OBD DCT Fault Codes in system?

The only relevant post on indicators seems to say the sounder is used for other warning functions aswell.
Unfortunately, as is sometimes the case, the OP did not bother to let us know the outcome, a pity as this forums is built on knowledge gained personally and collectively.
