If no stop-start fitted then a standard “wet” lead acid battery is the normal fitment…….the supplier should know this…….

Though the AGM one is more expensive but will probably last longer. When I replaced my AGM battery it was the original one nearly eight yrs old was still starting OK but decided to replace it as winter was coming and did not wan't to risk it. 2013 FL2 XS.

My Advice is to go normal lead acid, BUT fit the largest you can get in the tray.

Thankyou, apparently all the suppliers said agm, but the spec of the vehicle says no start stop and should be lead acid, so a big lead acid battery going in. Dont think it will help with my intermittent limp mode issue, but it cant make things any worse. |

A quick follow up on this, new battery fitted at the garage today, a yuasa 5000 series, physically bigger than the previous one, but fitted perfectly. Prior to doing this the garage ran a scan on their autel maxisys and there were pages of fault codes logged across all the various modules, everything from air con issues upwards. He was of the view that the knackered battery may well be not helping the situation. He cleared them all so we can see what comes back in the coming days. Not sure if the battery needs coding in or not as the low battery warning was still coming up on the screen , though that may have disappeared now as it didnt appear earlier. Hopefully good news. |

The Battery Monitoring measures/estimates what power goes in and out of the battery, it will sort itself out within the next few days, and Low Battery indications should disappear. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

What type was the old battery?did you not look? just because there is no stop start doesn't mean it doesn't need an agm battery.im not sure but it may have a regenerative charging system, like for example BMWs |

Thanks for the replies, original was lead acid, so went same again. I think agm was more for manual with start stop. |
