now they are saying, they can only fix the apparent fault that the car shows, ie the failed EGR valve

since there is no fault code for the overheating they can not look into it any further Shocked

I have had to go to them today and show them video evidence of the temperature gauge jumping about.

This gives them times and dates of when the cars sensor was doing the jumpy bits and they will send "session files" to them which apparently LR are the only ones that will be able to decode these Rolling Eyes

So basically my car thinks it over heats and goes into limp mode, they find EGR faults because that was what they think caused the limp mode, they admit they don't believe these are connected to the sensor overheat, but thats all they are willing to do until LR tell them otherwise

I guess i was sitting by the Censored roadside for 4 hour just for the f Censored fun of it and will be doing so again very soon

So many naughty words from our Mod Shocked

I do hope you soon come to your sences, but if you do make a change go for the Lexus and not an Audi Q5. You would be better off doing an avtur than choosing an Audi. A mate of mine has owned several Audi's - and all were big trouble, the X5 lasted a year and now he has a Tour-Egg and seems pretty happy with it. 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

makes my problems seem quite insignificant by comparison.

however it does seem that LR customer service is a least consistent, whether you problem is major or minor they just don't give s**t. and I notice that those letters GS keep popping up ... Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor Smile ... but not any more ... Big Cry ... psst look at my gallery!

My dealer is Censored too.

My steering prob has returned and they still insist nothing wrong.

Mind you I took my other halfs polo in for service and MOT yesterday, got a call saying it needed 4 new tyres to pass the mOT and tracking (?!?)

Went down there and demanded to see the car. Right enough the two fronts were worn at the inside edge, but the two rears were fine. 3mm on one and 2.5 on the other. Not great but still legal.

"oh it was only an advisory that they were changed" said the snippy old harridan at the counter who acted like she serviced the cars herself.

Got the car back from the dealers today

LR have put the over heat down to mud on the radiator Evil or Very Mad

Bearing in mind the last time it went through muddy water was June 2008 and one would think it would have over heated a year a go if that was the cause Rolling Eyes

That and the fact I have got a video showing it been normal temp 60 seconds later after a video of it doing a OH dance

the dealer waived the cost of the 2.5 hours it took to take out and clean the radiator so it a Bow down To GS Leeds on that

I will speak to my actual dealer tommorrow on the next course of action Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Muddy radiators collect muck, dust, debri, flys etc "over time" - This will block and cause overheating sooner or later Thumbs Up
Use an airline or hose to clean it out proper Shocked
Alternativly you could swap your FL2 for a Volvo Laughing 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
