Haldex problem is getting worse, vibration on both steering locks.
Will be replacing ASAP should I remove the fuse until replaced?

I changed the fluid in my Haldex over the weekend, and the shuddering under full lock has basically gone.
Unfortunately my newly refurbished diff is already showing metal on the drain plug and the oil is grey with fine metal particles. Big Cry 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.
Gone. 2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE.

I refurbished the diff myself, to factory specifications.
I'm thinking the Haldex shudder has overloaded it, causing gear wear.
Or it doesn't like the oil I'm using. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

Good trip to Austen . Fixed now but I think the car will be going soon since don’t really need such a big car anymore. A cheap little runabout may be on the cards !!

I would - it will switch the haldex off, giving you front wheel drive only. But if the problem remains after fuse removal it means you have a jammed up haldex.

Does this mean if you take the Haldex fuse out the vehicle would run front wheel drive only.?
Would that save diesel?

If the Haldex is not powered you should be front wheel drive only. The problem is that the gearbox will still be driving the power transfer box and propshaft and you’ll still be carrying around the Haldex, rear differential, driveshafts etc. The ‘E’ version of the FL2 didn’t have a PTU or anything downstream of it.

Proper service required with new filters etc, replacement clutch pack, recalibration and resetting of ECU

It has to go soon think - for something smaller and petrol. Don’t need big car any more

Yesterday I was thinking what would I get to replace the FL2 (its developed some noises which I haven't yet found a cause for)?

I had an Octavia VRS estate in the past - which was an excellent load carrier.
I paid £18K for that 2008 model when new. Allowing for inflation only that would be £28K now.
So I checked out the Skoda website.
The current Octavia VRS (PHEV) estate is now £40K+ Shocked Jules

I had a Tucson for 7 years when Hyundai were trying to break into the uk market. A lot of car for your money back then. Just as expensive as most cars now.
Only problem I had with it was a wet passenger foot well which took ages to pinpoint, but it stopped when I put some black insulation tape all along the bottom of the windscreen where it meets the plastic bit.
That was after having screen refitted !

I like the long warranties 😀

I have had a problem with he gear box on my HS4 and the garage took the fuse RB1 out to disable the 4 wheel drive. I want to get an MOT but they wont pass as there is 3 warnings for traction DTC and stability on the dash. I have replaced the fuse but cannot get the warning to go. Happy to have the fault with the box as it was an occasional slip. The fault codes were not present until the fuse was taken out.

Should the codes reset when the fuse is put back in or does it need to go in to garage to do this ?

Any help appreciated as the rest of the car is spot on

Is your mot garage not a car repair garage too?
Do they not have a code reader to clear it to allow a pass? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
