Green laning isn't extreme off roading. A decent set of AT tyres should see you through. Although you'd think some were competing in the Camel trophy. šŸ™„ Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Baltic Blue

The biggest problem I had on a trip organised by the Honiton Land Rover Experience centre was the ground clearance of the Freelander. On an ordinary metalled lane, was a man hole cover that would have ripped out the fuel tank if Iā€™d just driven over it. The car coped with everything else with ease, even fording a river, no crocodiles.

Rather embarrassing for the best 4x4!
Look like ordinary road tyres, possibly well worn? A decent set of AT tyres would cope better. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Wet grass can defeat the best equipped 4x4s fitted with anything less than extreme tyres. When I started greenlaning back in the mid-eighties it was essential training by LR to understand the dangers of traversing a grass slope or executing a failed hill climb on grass.

There was a green lane in Wales, sadly no longer open, called Brown Trousers. Whilst the blind zig-zags of the upper descent were deserved of the name the grass slope at the bottom was pray and hope you did not hit anything. FL2 HSE Lux 2013
