Aux belt change

As I have decided to do the cambelt /waterpump change myself will also change the aux belt at same time. Is it worth going the extra mile and changing aux belt pulley and tensioner as well.

In my opinion it is most definitely worth changing the aux belt, tensioner and idler unless you know they were changed recently as you have to remove the aux belt to do the timing belt you've done half the work.

I would ..........as my aux belt failed and jumped off the pulleys causing the belt to wedge itself between the alternator clutch pulley and alternator body, resulting in the clutch being 'wound-off' the alternator armature shaft.
lots of burnt/molten rubber and cord wound around various pulleys, lots of cleaning up before a new belt would fit.

worst case bits of belt will get tangled in cam belt, and snap that, ive seen that on roadside breakdowns, various cars.

Not a LR, but my neighbours Touran chewed up his aux belt and some of it got into the timing belt cover a few years ago. Broke the belt and cost him just over £4K to put right. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

So am sorted re doing the cambelt and aux belt changes. Now I know I will use a new crankshaft bolt for the cambelt change. Am I okay using other bolts again with a bit of locktite, ie on idlers tensioners etc?

According to the manual, some of the engine mount bolts are supposed to be replaced when removed, but the engine mount doesn't actually need to be removed to do the timing belt.

A dab of loctite on important fixings won't go amiss, but isn't necessary if torqued up correctly. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

I never reuse a bolt that has a 2 stage tightening setup. In this case the main crankshaft pulley bolt with 70Nm and then 60 degrees. As none of the others stipulate this loctite it is.
