England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Barolo Black
Egr location

Hi all
I’ve a 2007 2.2 freelander2
With normal driving no faults , if I accelerate hard no management light but low power mode with egr high fault .
On a 2007 location of egr please , can it be cleaned in situ

It's at the back of the engine located against the secondary bulkhead. It's a Censored of a job to get it off and cleaning in-situ is rarely successful. You can try using some fuel cleaner additives and / or premium fuel for a few tanks to see if it frees up a little, but usually once they start sticking it's replacement time.

I have had mine blanked off for a while
And started to get similar problems that got worse to the point I had restricted performance all the time
So instead of the hard work job of taking it off and replacing it I got it mapped out
This wasn't entirely straightforward as I continued to have problems but unplugging the EGR solved it and now running sweet
Was £140 for the remap and I have more power now too
You may have to blank the egr valve if its sticking open if you go down this route a plate off ebay is a couple of quid that's all and a dodle to fit
