Fuel Sender Connector

My i6 is showing no fuel on a full tank - a known problem possibly due to the connector underneath the rear seat. The connector has a latch which I can't undo because I can't see how it operates. Can anyone indicate how I can undo the connector? Thanks!

Do you have the new part yet? Inspecting that should give you an idea, the latches are probably on the sender unit itself.

No, if I had a new part it would be pretty obvious! I cannot see the latch arrangement so I'm asking for help from anyone that knows that connector.

The PDF shows the connector and the latch

---> Page 4 engineering rendering showing the latch with the connector removed

Thanks Paul - I have that pdf and the one thing I can't make out is how to release the latch! Maybe I'm missing something?
With the fuel gauge stuck on zero, I'll just have to keep filling up regularly.

Chris,

Thanks for reminding me to look at this mine was crossed up.

I rerouted the electrical cable so the the vent tube isn't pressing on it.

Using the tool shown below the latch is lifted from the end that is farthest from you.

Don't lift it much or it might break, just enough to release the connector.

A tool like this makes it easy

After releasing the Latch and lifting slightly

The latch that you lift is in the center of the picture. (you may be able to see a small scratch from the tool)

Job Done

Thanks for remining me to do this

Paul

PS I think that this is the correct replacement part https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000974501229.html
It look exactly like the part on my LR2 and it says (fits LAND ROVER and VOLVO)
