After installing acoustic insulation in the car I was very surprised how much heat was originally coming in through the metal roof. Noticed this even more as I had filled the large gaps in the ceiling but not at the front around the sun visors as that was more difficult.

So pulled the ceiling down again & squeezed bits of foam in where I could. It stopped the remaining heat through the front of the roof.

Another area was the fire wall. After installing insulation here I was again surprised about the amount of heat reduction.

On long runs in the outback where you would simply leave the air conditioning on, you can turn it off & not get too hot. We usually leave it on anyway but it has been an interesting observation at how much acoustic insulation helps thermally. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
