Spooky or just common... not sure which 🤔

I’m with Aviva and have an FL2 whilst the Mrs has an ST3!

Wish my premium was that low. Back after 13 years in Oz and Aviva wouldn’t except the NCB - the gits.

My ncb is the maximum, as is hers. FL2 and ST3 are a great combination. We can go anywhere if we’re in the right car. The ST3 is a fun car to drive but lots of potholes put the alloys at risk and the ride is pretty stiff.

My October renewal with NFU is £410.67 fully comp with legal cover and breakdown recovery, on driveway, up to 10,000 miles pa, Max NCB.

Have asked them to quote without wife as she has had to hand in her licence for medical reasons. Also asked what discount for the low risk this COVID year. Getting back to me.

Spoke to A Plan, who I have been with before, £481! 😱

Waiting for NFU to get back to me....

NFU won't quote for me here in SE London, obviously too much concrete, not enough trees and grass Wink

It pays to shop around...
My insurance is due for renewal in less than 30 days (usual limit for on-line searches).
I'm currently with RAC - I used their on-line chat to request a renewal quote - but I was told they can't do that over the chat line and I would have to wait until the renewal quote arrives automatically nearer the time. I explained that, according to Martin Lewis, one gets offered less competitive quotes as you get nearer the renewal date. I was told I would get a loyalty discount of some value.

So I got a new quote via the RAC website (which was more than I paid last year) and did searches on Confused and Compare the Meerkat and found Aviva to be the cheapest on both.
I decided to go with Aviva and saved 26% (£60) compared to last year's RAC premium; paying £171 (inc SDP only, legal & NCD protection, courtesy car, windscreen cover). I can't imagine any loyalty discount from RAC exceeding that. Jules

I had a similar problem with Direct-Line. My policy increased by £68 for no reason at all !!
got on the phone to them and managed to get it down to UNDER the previous years renewal. I also 'opted-in' to their "mileage moneyback" . you HAVE to opt in ???? why can't they offer it to anyone that has cover with them ?? you can opt-in at ANY time during the length of your policy.

I have a mileage range of 7,000 / yr. last year I did less than 1,000 .... got nothing.

Opted-in this year .......... time will tell ????

I don't expect to get a wind fall, better than I got before they offered mileage moneyback.

60 quid would also have been saved if you had gone through Topcashback
