LR Parking Assist issues - long term solutions.

Had my car serviced yesterday and had a number of minor issues looked at. One of the main common problems, which I know has been posted before was the parking sensors playing up in heavy rain or after the car has been washed. My front sensors have been taking on water and this is making them corrode. Apparently LR are looking into a long term solution and they are going to replace all my sensors with revised ones at some point in the near future. that'll be good as they're f Censored g annoying in the wet!!! Evil or Very Mad

I don't know whether all of us are experiencing the same problems still?? Thumbs Up Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass

what ever my dealer did has seemed to solve the problem

I presume they shoved a load of sealent to stop the water getting in as they haven't done it as much since the last visit and update of the pdc module Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Yeah they may have been talking Censored , but I'll post if and when they solve the issue. To be fair, they aren't too bad unless it rains heavily. Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass

This is very strange, my car is one of the earliest FL2's produced very late '06 and the parking snesors have never been a problem on my car. Due to the confines of my very limited driveway they are tested every day of the week. Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor Smile ... but not any more ... Big Cry ... psst look at my gallery!

If I had tesco insurance I'd crash on purpose just to make the Censored s pay up. Blood out of a stone I bet, they would probably try and pay in clubcard points Rolling Eyes At work

My rear parking sensors went a bit wild a couple of times during icy weather several weeks ago, but worked normally when dried out. I guess extreme moisture or freezing can cause a malfunction occasionally, but if continuously chiming there must be a real issue to sort out. Still you can always turn off the parking sensors (until fixed) if the noise annoys you so much. 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

True, trouble is you become reliant on them after a while. Bad driving I know, but the more toys, the lazier I get behind the wheel. Especially with the auto! Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass

Don't rely on your parking sensors! The handbook reminds us that they are only there to help i.e. no gripes allowed if you touch anything.

1. I once reversed into a bush that did not trigger the sensors when they ususally had (part of my driveway, no damage to bush or car) - I thought maybe the bep did not sound as I engaged reverse but it seemed OK afterwards

2. I have since had a big fright reversing very very close to the back end of a Mitsubishi L200 which is obvioulsy too high for the sensors to "see". Apart from the one-off above, I had become complacent and used to the beeps coming whever I got near anything at all.

I asked for a check at 1st service and a pasing salesman (the one who did my handover) said that there had been other reports of "intermitent non-op" on the PDC . No report of any fault although I got a software update as part of the service so maybe something's changed. I no longer trust PDC. Gone... 2013 XS TD4 Manual Firenze Red

My stealer crunched the roof on a Discovery because he relied on the rear parking sensor's Shocked
He forgot that there was an angled metal post from the bottom of the showroom window that protruded to roof level of the vehicle - not so good when reversing inn and relying on the beeps Rolling with laughter 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
