17th November. I have just fitted my winter wheels to avoid the inevitable advisory for the well scrubbed front nearside outer edge on my summer tyres and I am quietly confident. Cam belt change same day, same place.

All done. MoT test pass with no advisories and new cam belt /water pump. Just need to get an A Service booked and car all done for another year.

The price mysteriously went up by £65 inc VAT but I haven’t seen him to enquire as to why. i suspect he underquoted on the labour (or simply forgot what he told me) but that is a conversation I'll have when I collect the little Hyundai i10 which I have left in for a gear stick sticking problem... not self centring so each gear has to be manually located - I know what I mean... 🙂.

Mine passed last week, no advisories. Despite being on an 06 , the tester remarked on how nice it still is. I spent a day back in September rubbing down and treating the surface rust underneath before wax oiling. All failures on the previous MOT's are down to the previous owner. Although it was meticulously serviced at a main dealer, there have been failures for stupid stuff, like tyre wear, a windscreen wiper and handbrake - all all on separate occasions.

My son lives abroad and stores his Porsche 911 with us. Yesterday he asked me to take it for an MOT, it passed OK with no advisories although the tester said that most of the underneath of the car is covered in for aerodynamic reasons and so he couldn't see much to test. Came across the Dorset army ranges (wide open road, no traffic) at about 65mph and decided to gave it a quick blip but chickened out when it shot over 95 (about half it's top speed).
Driving the FL2 today felt really slow and wallowy around corners but a lot more comfortable really. Very Happy 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
