Warning lights

Hi all new member here.
I had a FL1 TD4 for 6 years and still have it at 190000miles.
Just bought a FL2 SD4 2012 auto but have a problem with the Traction control and gearbox fault warnings coming on a few times,
Does not make any difference to the drive though. Any Idea's

Thanks
Russ

If it is "gearbox fault traction reduced" or similar it can be caused by a low battery. Otherwise it probably means that the Haldex needs a service or possibly a new Haldex pump

It will continue to drive fairly normally as the car effectively becomes front wheel drive only. Normally the Haldex feeds drive to the back wheels from time to time under certain circumstances

If you search you will find lots of info regarding this

I have a 2012 SD4 and just before the battery died I also began to get odd transmission flash warnings, hardly had time to read them though one said Transmission Failure no noise was in cruise and it stayed in cruise and no change in speed, engine sound or any fault codes, I had all the oils changed at the next service, it never occured again after the battery change. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

I agree, the FL2 seems to suffer from random faults being indicated as the battery gets older.

If you have had the battery for a few years, change it as a first step. I think the problems occur because the various electronic control units scattered around the car need a good reliable power supply, especially on initial start up. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
