Surely it's a moot point. If you have to quarantine coming in from France, then the Swiss visit is irrelevant. Unless you're incorrectly supposing that there would be a consecutive quarantine of 28 days rather than a concurrent period of 14 days.

This discussion is becoming as confusing as the Government's advice.

Chances are that by the time you want to come back, either the virus risk will have changed, or the Government will have yet again reversed it's previous decision, or most likely both.

It seems to boil down to the following:-
It's your life to risk, but please make sure that you take the necessary steps to keep the rest of us safe.

The fact that you notice others that are behaving irresponsibly should not alter how you act. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 74k+ miles) (MY2015)

Sid, I’ve driven to Switzerland and back from NI a few times but taking out our full return journey back home I can remember how long and arduous the return journey was to the tunnel. Personally there’s no mission you’d get me making this trip even with a stop over with the fear of catching Covid and the possibilities of another full lockdown. I can understand why you want to travel but in reality the guidance still states (but correct me if I’m wrong) Essential Travel Only. I certainly won’t judge you in any way or be critical of your choice but I’d still advise don’t go and if you do isolate for the sake of all.

Don’t risk the health of yourself or family during this pandemic. Be patient, don’t be a patient!
