2014 freelander 2 door lock issues

I have a 2014 freelander 2 hse lux, I have recently been experiencing issues while unlocking the car.
After unlocking the car with single press set up the passenger door is not unlocking also when locking and unlocking the car while inside to test it, the black flick button at the handle on the passenger door does not move out fully or close fully hope you understand what I am trying to say.
Has anybody had any issues like this.

Is it not two presses to unlock passenger doors?

Otherwise............

Door actuator faulty. Very common.

I have had one fixed under warranty fortunately.

Very very common...it’s your door lock motor which is failing....it needs replacing... if you are handy with tools it’s a relatively simple but fiddly replacement...
If not then book it in.... search you tube for the how to video.... Very Happy

Hi,
door actuators seem to go "Lazy" and dont fully unlock the car on first press of the remote button, sometimes 2 or 3 presses and it will open but as said above ^ sounds like it needs replacing.

if you are talking about the Front passenger side then this is when I replaced mine.

https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic32069.html

if you want some more to read then this is last week when I replaced the o/s/r one Rolling Eyes

https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic35541.html

Cost wise it depends what You are happy doing but from £5 to about £200 Shocked thats for main dealer to replace with a new actuator.

happy reading

Thumbs Up .
my first ever FL2 and I did keep it longer than most other cars!
But its now gone way up Norf

I've replaced 3 of mine with cheap ones made in China last year which is something I don't normally do in buying cheap but, with life expectancy of these locks it's a better alternative. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green

Not sure if this is of any help but I had a problem with the rear door which would not lock or unlock. Took it apart checked the actuator motors were fine and put it back together, then it worked for a bit then same again. then I noticed window didnt work either so removed fuse to check put it back in and all worked again.. FOR a bit then stopped again.

So Figured controller, removed front and back controllers. Took apart - easy to do and resoldered all pcb solder joints (well all the larger ones) on both controllers - took about 30 mins for each. Put back together and it has been fine since. So suspect was a dry joint on the pcb. PBC on inspection doesn't have a lot of solder on the bigger connections perhaps a generic fault.

I hope it helps someone.

That's the default, but you can set to open all doors with one click. That's what I do since I have kids, dogs, etc. If some jacker jumps in the car in a dark parking lot, that's OK too... I'm large and ex-mil.
