Greece 2007 Freelander 2 i6 HSE Auto Baltic Blue

So it's possible to retrofit a Bluetooth phone? I have a freelander 2 HSE from the early years (bought back at 2007) and I remember that the dealer told me those days that it was impossible to have the phone work in the future

Hi Cambo, this is a very interesting post, thanks for all the information you shared.
I read a post from you saying that if you have an old fl2 having bluetooth for the phone, you could easily add audio streaming via bluetooth. How is this achieved?
This is what I'm looking for. I have '09 fl2, came from factory with the premium audio system + audio controls in steering wheel + bluetoth for phone (shows signal strength, carrier, etc). Everything works fine, but I can't stream audio from the phone.
Hope you can help me with this.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Zermatt Silver

Hi all, just wanted to give my experience of updating the Bluetooth module.

I have an 06 plate MY07 FL2 HSE with Alpine Audio. :

My original bluetooth module with code 6G9N-19C024-AI (Date: 20061009) would not work with my Samsung Galaxy S6.

I sourced a replacement on a well known auction site with the code AX23-10F845-AA (Date: 20150118) and swapped it out. The replacement was actually from a Jaguar XF. My S6 now connects no problem at all and I had to do no coding on the car.

Hope this helps

Lake

I've been looking into retrofitting the bluetooth module into my 2011 Freelander. Seems to be quite streightforward, provided you have all the parts. Below I have put togeather a parts list based on Cambo's posts and my own findings:

1. Bluetooth unit: LR010128 | LR027985 | LR008140 | C2Z18541 | C2Z11365 | C2Z 2233
It is also possible to search via the Ford numbers: 7G9N-10D893-AG | 7G9N-10D893-AF | 7G9N-10D893-AC | 7G9N-10D893-AA | 6G9N-19C024-AI

2. Bluetooth unit power supply plug and pins: easiest choice is aliexpress, search for 1J0972977D. Possible replacement maybe obtained from VW: 1J0972977D (plug) + N90764701 (pins) * 4pcs.
The OEM ones are TYCO's 929053-1 (plug), 968265-1 (internal plug), 963726-1 (pins) * 4pcs.

3. Bluetooth unit MOST link: again, try aliexpress. Search for fiber most loop and select male plug. Alternatively, you may go for OEM LR005443 (wire) + YPC911470 (plug). The plug may be also bought from BMW in two pieces: 61138387214 + 61136917978

4. Microphone: XVC000050 | 4M5T-19A391-AA | 1252666

5. Micropohne harness: LR013601 | LR005393
Note, both have male-pins one one side, while female-ones are actually needed to plug into the OEM harnes. I was not able to identify the relevant female-pin codes, but presume, that they are of TYCO origin or something along those lines.

6. Steering wheel buttons: XPD500730
Some have posted that they are not actually necessary.

Hope this helps Smile

@Cambo, could you drop me a PM, as I want to reflash the BT module, but unfortunatelly, cannot send PMs yet

Cambo hasn't regularly posted here for over two years, he's unlikely to respond.

I suspect he doesn't post as he has a very busy business upgrading Land Rover infotainment systems, you might be better contacting him directly through;

Just for your information, and thanks for the tip, I've done exactly the same:

- old one: 7G9N-10D893-AC (dated 20070914, crashing and rebooting often)
- new one: AX23-10F845-AA (dated 20110224)

Now all works fine with my iPhone8, the bluetooth connection is stable and call quality very good. The phone book is synchronized correctly.

I have only one problem, now my FL thinks she is a Jaguar! The module I replaced comes from an XF '11, so i see on the phone "connected to Jaguar" Laughing

Does anyone knows how to change that?

Thanks, ciao
Edoardo
