I remember doing the 80k logging road from Port Alberni to Bamfield - west coast Vancouver Island, a couple of years ago in a VW golf  , ooohhh how I wished for a nice comfy FL2 then 
Funny you should mention that trail. I just did the southern vancouver island round trip. along the juan de fuca, do a little camping, then along the west coast, more camping, then back through to lake cowichan through logging roads. more camping. Went through a lot of beer. Armchair Commando
