Sure, there are times I will buy bottled water but not a daily occurrence for me.

I know it probably doesn’t matter or make a lot of difference, but the single use plastic bottles after a while can leach the chemicals into the water much faster than when new, usually it won’t effect taste but it is still happening.

I used to use one on the bedside cabinet, until my Son saw it and mentioned he read an article in the lancet about it. Regards

I know a lady who volunteers to plant saplings on the venture.

She has also taken delivery of her first 200 saplings to plant on her farm.

Unfortunately I don't think there is an easy answer to this real problem of Global Warming and Resource Overuse.

Bristol, as a university city, is well known for it's demonstrations, and they all normal finish on College Green.

If it rains, the grass needs to be re-seeded, and all is forgotten in a few weeks.

I don't think it is the locals making the fuss, as the Daily Mail quotes about the 30.000 demonstrators;

"Susan Hall, leader of the Conservatives on the Greater London Assembly, tweeted: ‘This is an utter disgrace, children being bussed in from all over the country – great for emissions."

how many times over the last 20 or so years have I seen new trees planted by the council/forestry commission/ etc that have been vandalised by 'bored' teenagers as they claim they have nothing better to do.

in my opinion the 'youth' of today have to take as much responsibility for the damage being done to the planet as the rest of us. If they hadn't vandalised trees, or continued to make demands on the latest technology requiring batteries and components made of rare earth materials needing to be dug from 3rd world countries then maybe we wouldn't be in as bad a situation as we are now.

I wonder how many of those at the Bristol rally arrived there by train or car, have mobile phones, wear clothes made from petroleum based products such as polyester or live in centrally homes (and demanding the heating on full blast rather than putting on extra layers)
