United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Alaska White

Just got the car back. It did need the software upgrade - but anyone else seeing this post please note that the software update on this thread is for the European Dealers and the update number in the UK is different.

Car driving much better, really smooth auto gear changes. MPG appears to have dropped down to around 25 on a 50m motorway run, but I guess thats the price we pay for not buying a 1.0 EcoBoost Fiesta!

If you have a car with a box made later than the last quarter of year 2015, then you will be a happy bunny.
Otherwise, keep in mind that the software update is just masking a problem that sooner or later will surface...

Enquired at my local Indie about the update and they will do it for £35, which I didn't think was too bad so will get it done soon.

Has anyone got the UK bulletin number please? If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

I've booked mine in to Hatfields in Shrewsbury for software update on September 11th. The chap I spoke to didn't't seem to know much about it so I said that I would send details. I've got the bulletin number, but somebody on here recently posted details of the process, which despite spending a couple of hours searching, I can't find. Can anybody help me out please?

Think it's LTB00782V4 dated 28/10/2015 and superseded one of 01/10/2015

Thanks Sid. I've got that.
Unless I imagined it, in the last couple of weeks I read a post which gave more detail on the process. It involved driving back an forth a few feet. I thought it was an Alex Pescaru post but I've checked and still can't find it.
Ah well, the LTB number will be sufficient I'm sure.

Can anyone advise on the Cost for getting this work carried out ?

I was starting to think there was a major issue with the gearbox when this started to occur.

Rather than starting to think of a car change I found this thread
I have the LTB saved and will call LR AM
Also a couple of Independents not to far from home.

The Icarsoft I have shows TCM and you can view live data but there is No TCM reset on the unit Sad

shame as when I took the car to Yeovil for service previously I asked if there was any SW upgrades as I had noticed a Jolt when sitting in traffic.

the LTB looks to show work takes approx 1hr
so I will be interested to get a ££ quote for the LTB work to be completed.

Hi V40TC.
My car is booked in at main dealers in Shrewsbury on Wednesday. I'll let you know how I get on.
Our local independent LR specialist says it's not something they can do. So I had no option but to go to stealers.
Dare say I'll get a cup of coffee while I wait though. Razz
