United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Bali Blue

Saw one yesterday in Walsall, only caught a passing glimpse as I was going around a roundabout and it was waiting at the junctiojn - looked very compact and defo FL2 / D4 looking front - wonder if it was going to the engine plant in Wolverhampton?

Agree - of all of them I thought the Defender might be spared the all wheel no tyre disease that seems all to common these days.
There seemed to be some doing the rounds with slightly more sensible wheel options earlier days.

Isnt the spare centrally mounted, at least it looks it on some of the other photos I have seen.

I like that, think it will be the 110 for me. Red callipers, I’m assuming that’s the 3.0 ingenium straight six under the bonnet?

Don’t forget though, that very important test ALL new vehicles have to go through now requires low profile tyres and huge wheels..........getting around that stupid 12.9 miles circuit in record time without knocking over a Fiat Panda or a teenager on a Vespa! Regards

David

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again......

I thought I'd read somewhere that rear mounted spare wheel s were banned due to crash testing regulations? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

We had this debate a few months ago, I am sure that I read some time ago that under EU regs any new designs after a certain date had to have the spare incorporated inside the vehicle which was why FL2 differs from FL1 etc and numerous other examples but presumably it got repealed. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
