Classified MoD documents found at bus stop

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-57624942

Don't be duped.

BBC report stated "Due to the sensitivity of the document, the BBC has decided not to report details which could endanger the security of British and other personnel in Afghanistan."

So now the BBC thinks it is best placed to decide ??? Rolling with laughter

Person who found them, instantly thinks, these are MoD documents, I must give them to the BBC .... Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

For those 'in the know' there is one huge flaw in the documents and even I spotted it.
What ? the BBC didn't ???? Rolling with laughter

I was talking to an ex Royal Navy guy yesterday and he said that these sorts of operations are commonplace and are designed to get the opposition to show their capability. Everything would be switched on in listening and recording mode and any planes would be studied for bomb loads and types of weapons being carried and so on. He said that the Russians are often probing Nato defences around Scotland and Norway so it's normal activity. The difference here was that a news reporter "just happened" to be on board which is quite unusual. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

England

Reporters are now fairly common place on RN ships in the Gulf and Black Sea, it's all propaganda for the folks back home that it's money well spent and our ships aren't as bad as the Mirror and Guardian says Rolling Eyes
I think in the case of Secret marked documents, they were secret until the news broke about Defender then they're old news and downgraded, usually they are burnt so the press can't make waves when some Censored leaves them on public transport, but they shouldn't leave the office unless secured to a wrist in a briefcase with an escort. MOD plod security asleep again Rolling Eyes my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

After examining any clues in the press, I came to the conclusion that Normal 'SECRET' documents were carried openly in RED Covers, but real SECRETS that you wanted keep, are kept in GREEN Covers.

Seriously though, why do ministers strut around openly carrying CONFIDENTIAL documents, that should surely be in a locked briefcase. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Same sort of things happen down under:

The Cabinet Files: How classified documents were found at a Canberra second-hand shop

For a key moment in one of the biggest national security breaches in the nation's history, it was an unlikely setting.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/redirects/back...nd/9393008

Two cabinets for $10 each

The story begins at a second-hand auction house in Canberra in the middle of last year.

The man cooking the steak and sausages had gone to Canberra to buy some filing cabinets — he knew that you could always get good furniture at the shops around the capital which sold used government supplies. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Bali Blue

Years ago in the RAF I was involved with electronic warfare projects. All redundant paperwork had to be shredded then taken to the incinerater to be burnt. At the time my younger son kept ferrets so I thought shredded paper would make ideal bedding material.
However, the powers to be did not agree with my idea so I got a Censored . My defence was based on the fact that no sane spy would put his hand in a ferret cage. 11 GS Bali Blue
07 GS FL2. Usually muddy. Gone
Numerous LRs since 1963
