Reversing sensors with caravan

I have a FL2013 GS TD4 auto. It has a commercially fitted towbar utilising a ZR2500 relay module.
When reversing with a caravan attached the reversing sensors do not switch off resulting in a permanent annoying tone. Can they be switched off? Should the ZR2500 unit switch them off? Any tips?
Many thanks.

normally with 2013MY onwards the towbar electrics are plug and play and will automatically turn off the rear sensors when it detects towing electrics are connected.

with 2006-2013MY the electrics need programming onto the car but they should still turn off if configured correctly.

Looking at the spec/instructions for the Zr 2500 it is only a unit to protect the vehicle electrics from being overloaded by the additional load of caravan or trailer lights. It does not have the ability to turn off the reversing sensors as the genuine Land Rover towing electrics. That is my understanding of the unit. You may have to just turn off the sensors by using the switch on the dash every time you are towing. Big Cry

Haven't you got a button on the dash to turn them off, mine has but only ever use it for the front sensors when its bugging me. When I plug the van in my reversing sensors don't come on. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green

My 14 has genuine LR electrics and turn off sensors automatically. Didn’t know there was a switch to turn off manually, my discovery had one but not my Fl2? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I think the button is only fitted on models with front parking sensors as well.

I have this issue, 2009 model. Towbar electric were patched in before I got it and as such it can't be reprogrammed to turn the sensors off as the car doesn't technically know it's towing. It's one thing that bugs me about the car as I use the towbar quite a bit with the bike rack too! Oh, and no switch on the dash either.

I have a 2012 SD HSE, the car is ex LR Enterprise for LR Rescue and was fitted with twin 7 pin electrics either at the factory or issuing dealer, the rear sensors turn off with any trailer connected i.e single 7N or both 7N and 7S. there is a switch on the dash but this only turns on/off the front sensors in the event the car has not been selected in reverse for manoeuvring. the front sensors are automatically disabled when the doors lock, the rears never except when towing. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
2012 HSE SD4 In Orkney Grey now gone, best car ever.

Thanks everyone for your replies.
I have got to the bottom of my problem.
I had LR program in that my FL had a tow bar fitted but this did not resolve it.
As mentioned in one of the posts the ZR2500 interface module is not capable of switching off the reversing sensors. I have now had this confirmed by the (non LR) company that fitted it..they said it required a button or menu item on the FL to do that. The only solution is to change the ZR2500 unit for an LR one.
My FL 2013 GS model only has rear sensors and it does not have the dash button to disable them.
Thanks again for your comments and help
