Just checked mine and the numbers are 30 . 12 . 12. So perhaps I have the Mars maps (seems like that when some of the routes are shown) |

So what did you buy to do this? Is the update coded somehow to your particular car? I was wondering if all the owners that wanted to update would do a group buy for an update and share it. Would that work? MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE |

There is an activation code for each map update which is tied to the VIN of your car, so the activaton code for one vehicle will not work on another.

Hmmm, no. I have a choice of two motorcycle satnavs, both with lifetime updates, so I'll leave it.

Having posted above.......of course, if someone had the LR memory stick with the maps on it........could that be reused with a new code? I suppose it depends whether it's a "cut & paste" or a "copy and paste" thing into the satnav memory as to whether the maps are still on it. Your contact could make a few bucks generating the codes and we could save a few bucks by sharing the stick around. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE |

Well I guess the penny had to drop sooner or later.

Half price (of £170) is still dearer than a lifetime subscription from Garmin which is about £75 IIRC. Being a tight git and having other options with my bike satnavs I wouldn't be prepared to pay that much.

I read somewhere that Australian sat navs have had to be updated because the country has moved several metres since the original mapping. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto 5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE |

Great, thanks for this - I've been looking how to do this for last few weeks! As part of buying a FL2 Metropolis I negotiated to get the maps updated for free and there was no way I could check. Checked now and it only has 2014 maps! |

Given the glacial rate of road building in the UK I am surprised that anyone needs a map update at all. The Romans built most of it. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
