New dashcam for back window ordered

Just ordered one of these for the back window: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nextbase-Dashboar...op?ie=UTF8

Now that my front facing dashcam has been replaced under warranty, I thought I'd invest in a new one after the E-Prance camera went west last year. It will be delivered tomorrow. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

The problem I have found with the nextbase products is the poor picture quality of the recordings, its no way near the Mio dashcam quality plus with the Mio you get added speed cameras notification for free.

It'll be sufficient for the back window me thinks. Wouldn't have bought it for the front. The picture quality on my Roadhawk has always been fine Thumbs Up LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I had a succession of Eprance rubbish, they all lasted about 3 months before starting to play up, I bought a Blackview in the end and its been great, picture quality is brilliant the software is excellent, especially the ability to make decent stills of the video.

Oh and no stupid screen in the car either, I have no idea why dashcams need an in car screen? North Wales Land Rover Club

The bloody suction mount keeps falling out of the window! Absolute bag of crap! Does not matter how carefully I go about it. I am going to order one of these and hope it fits. It fits other nextbase models although one customer said a touch of filing was needed: https://www.amazon.co.uk/iSaddle-CH-116-Ad...B00F0BBCJC LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

All sorted Thumbs Up In a stroke of pure genius, I peeled off the 3M sticky pad from the spare mount for my Roadhawk camera and slapped it onto the suction pad of the nextbase camera. I then peeled off the red cover thing and stuck it to the window. Solid as a rock!

Some sample footage. Exactly what I expected, i.e. the quality is acceptable. Not a patch on the Roadhawk but for facing backwards, it'll do me Thumbs Up

Here we go. There's a 12v socket in the boot which is much more convenient than the one in the Fiesta which was in the rear passenger footwell to the rear of the handbrake.

Well, my stroke of genius mentioned above quite literally came unstuck today Censored To be fair, it is secure again now but it just can't handle the immense heat that was in the car when I returned to it today. I suspect it will fall off again tomorrow when the oven fires up Rolling Eyes

Ours fell off yesterday and set off the car alarm in our cul de sac , I had it secured in the previous car by the sticky pad with no issues ( was over winter though ) .
On this car I have used the suction mount and as the temperatures rose yesterday if fell off , snapped it back on but going back to an adhesive pad if it falls off again . FL2 gone now in 2016 Discovery 4 Loire Blue .
