its in .22, mainly because I have a spare slot on my FAC for a .22 air, so I will see how I get along with it, and it makes the "list" I may have it upgraded.

Anyway, bigger is better - right Rolling with laughter

we use a BSA Scorpion .177 with 10 round drum magazine but with no scopes. Nice rifle to fire but sights are very plain and simple and not enough power for any real fun.

The Scorpion is a good air gun, we had one for a while in single shot, and used it at 50m on the range - very accurate (with a scope)

ours are only intended as a first rifle for 12/13 year olds to use to get the marksmanship principles practiced at 10m before they move onto a .22 rimfire rifle at 25m and then onto full bore 5.56mm at ranges up to 300m. The better shots can then move onto a 7.62mm target rifle at up to 600m.

tbh I really like the Scorpion, nice weight, and nice to shoot.

When I look at Daystate I always wonder if anyone bought the .303 and what they used it on . FL2 gone now in 2016 Discovery 4 Loire Blue .

.303 is mainly used on big game hunting these days Laughing I used to love shooting the Lee Enfield .303 as an Army Cadet in the 80's, a proper rifle Very Happy

we weren't allowed the bayonets for them Whistle

I 'progressed' from .303 rifle, to 7.62 SLR, to 5.56 SA80............. it was a definite learning curve that peaked somewhere between SLR and 5.56 Laughing

Nice gun, and very nice to shoot, Daystate really are a maker of fine air rifles. My old Mk4 FAC .22 still does sterling service but it's heavier and not as well balanced as this.

Their large bore air rifles (.303 and others) in heavy duty power mode are exported to USA in some numbers I believe and used for shooting, among other things, wild pigs.

There are videos online of air rifles being used to shoot wild pigs but not 100% sure they are all Daystates

Enjoy!

its the AT-44 i have in .22, faultless and i seem to be quite a good shot with it on the targets

I would recommend the AT-44 to anyone wanting to dip their toe in to a PCP Air rifle Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Gun ? Any military man worth his salt would be in big trouble saying that. You are issued with a Weapon. Whistle FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
