Sorry for the slow return, have been away.
Up date on problem. I have now replaced all of the boost hoses with silicone ones from Derby Performance Hoses. I couldn't find anything wrong with the originals but as others have suggested they can be a problem. Bit of a time consuming job but now done.
The result is that the car is now worse. It now sounds like a hurricane is passing through the turbo and the original problem is still there.
To try and eliminate a boost leak I decided to run the engine and induce smoke into the air inlet. Idear being if there was a leak I would now be able to see it.
No smoke leakage therefore I think that is now ruled out.
One new observance though, as the new hoses are a bright blue they are easier to see and as the engine was revved you could see the large hose from the intercooler to the throttle body start to bloat.
My thinking now is that the turbo is pushing out the air but something is restricting the flow, possibly the throttle body sticking at a set point ?
