power source?

Hi all,

Wanted to seek some advice. I want a switched power source to which I can connect a bluetooth until which runs into the aux in socket. I am not an electrician. .... Where is the easiest place to connect into? Could scotchlock into the front switched cigarette lighter socket...or is there a better and easier solution?

Thanks in advance for any help 2012 TD4 XS, Santorini Black, 18" Alloys, Privacy Glass, Rear Spoiler, Arm Rest

At least one of the fuses in the passenger footwell is switched - you could piggy-back off of one of them - I have for my dashcam. Do you need access to the Bluetooth unit? If not I'd wire it into the fuse box as above and tuck it out of sight.

Get a fuse with a flying lead and put it in F5 in the fuse box in the passenger side footwell.

Thanks for the replies. That could work well. Could easily fit the Bluetooth under there.

May be a silly question but where would I run the neutral to?

What rating of fuse with the wire would I need?

Thanks again. 2012 TD4 XS, Santorini Black, 18" Alloys, Privacy Glass, Rear Spoiler, Arm Rest

There are lots of bare metal screws around there that you can use as an 'Earth' no neutral Rolling Eyes
The BT module won't be heavy on power, I would get a 5A ( red) piggy back fuse, it comes with wire attached.

Told you I wasn't an electrician!!

Many thanks again for the help on this.

The Bluetooth had a 3.5mm plug which goes into the aux in socket. Is it possible to do this at the back of the stereo..is there a socket...or do I need to run it to the back of the console? 2012 TD4 XS, Santorini Black, 18" Alloys, Privacy Glass, Rear Spoiler, Arm Rest
