I must admit I did laugh, although the lack of any motoring content was disappointing and a sign of what TG has become, "three baffoons go nuts". Comical, puerile at times, sadly no longer a motoring program.

I never miss TG and haven't for many years. My 10 year old was laughing out loud, but even I was disappointed there wasn't a car review. I think they are doing 10 shows this series instead of the usual 6, but come on BBC, I need to see some cars.
That said, the 458 replacement the 488 looks stunning. I didn't think there could be a better looking car than the 458 but I was wrong. _________________

^ Yes the 488 looks superb Thumbs Up

I know what you mean about car reviews or lack thereof though. I would like to see the new Jaguar XE on test. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

For me, one of the most entertaining episodes Thumbs Up

Yes, a degree of buffoonery was involved... 'twas ever thus... but THREE seious points I think were made - perhaps this represents a policy change -

1. About outside lane hoggers
2. About the perils of speed bumps
3. About Peugeot drivers!

All in all, very enjoyable. Will probably go back to iPlayer for another gawp!

Hiarious when Hammond despatched his patient through the Censored window! Rolling with laughter

I'd watch 5th gear more often if they ditched Jason Potato Rolling Eyes

It's more of a comedy show these days to be honest. Not really about cars anymore jusr car-based comedy stuff by three middle aged blokes trying to act like teenagers. Only cars they ever review are the sort of cars that the average man in the street could never afford anyway. I think their main target audience is teenage boys. Not terribly bothered whether I watch it or not these days.

Mixture of all replies, some segments are ok, some like the news you get to see something like the Ferrari and can go look elsewhere for a review, and most is left to the three been stupid and repetitive

Enjoyed some of it but after a while it was becoming hard to watch to the end Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

It all comes down to whether or not you have the mental age of 9 that Wilman claims is the target audience for the show. I don't, so I thought it pretty poor and pointless.

Best thing they've done for years was the Spain road trip in the last series - the effects of the downturn in the Spanish economy added something really worthwile to the messing around, and showed that they are capable of blending entertainment with cars and something a little more intellectually stimulating. More like that, please!

IMO the TG show needs to come up with something a bit fresher than the usual Xcountry road trips in various countries, some have been good (like the Spanish one and the Bolivian one for instance) but its all the same now and as has been previously mentioned very little in the way of decent car reviews.

The 5th gear shows (again IMO) are much better, with properly qualified drivers, and a bit of interest factor when Vicky B-H is driving like a hooligan whilst wearing a short skirt and boots (or is that just me Whistle )

Re. V.B-H, look out for the off-road review of the 2WD Evoque. Apparently she's terrified of driving off road for some reason, and the review shows V.B-H virtually having a panic attack when faced with a slippery climb. Real tears were spilled! Needell and the other chap (sorry, I don't know his name!) were also in the car having hysterics at V's antics. Now that's entertainment...!
