i presume the mpg will decrease if you select sand mode, as the accelorator will pick up any minute movements and cause the engine to react.

Though it wouldn't do any harm in normal driving conditions, as the car can be run in any setting for as long as you need.

If you drive the car hard in sand mode, on tarmac it could cause more stress to the engine and transmission as it expects the wheels to spin as they would in sand. My dealer gave me the same tip but the warning aswell.

Remember you also get the DSC toned down in sand mode too, so you could end up spinning out of control due to this especially on wet slippy winding roads. (LRE prove this to me) Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Have anyone been thinking about that the dealers might have a possibilityto see in the diagnostic/ECU what is going on in the engine . I mean they might think it is odd if they see that the turbo kicks in on lower RPM or the engine have increased a lot in torque . The way I have understood it the diagnostic saves the different kind off " picks " that the engine makes but I might be wrong. "57" HSE automatic in black with black leather, tinted glas,Alpina hifi and a lot of extra accessories, chrome handle in and outside, chrome foglight+mirrorcaps+boothandle.Topspoiler

Maersk,

As I sadi before don't give the delaers so much credit. The diagnostic software they use will not show up a remap and reading the figures it provides will not show if more power is being given.

A dealers capabilities are very basic and a majority of the time they only use the diagnostic codes for finding problems and then more indepth troubleshooting may require software to read sensor voltages etc. and only then will they see if there is a major difference in a value provided.

Dealers cannot see with diagnostic software that a car has been chipped. Once you've tasted GREY you'll never go back!

Hallo Gamba Smile .

That is true what you write,on a normal service they wouldnt go into " details " on the software. But Im sure that if the car starts to run odd and behave strange and you as a customer is taking your car to the dealer under the warranty they will have a look at everything . I had a Fiat HGT brand new in Denmark a few years ago and I had it serviced at the dealer . I picked it up ( it wasnt chipped ) and drove about 4 miles in it when the car lost power . All the RPM was there but it was like half the horses had gone " inside the stable " Big Cry Big Cry .I went back straight away and they put the computer on it.They could see that the igniton from the sparks ( I think you call them that ) was wrong and it injected to much fuel - the sensor near the cat was controlling that . In the end they found out that they had fitted wrong sparks and that somehow my cat had melted . The cat on the Fiat was just after the first exhaust pipes from each cylinder . They replaced everything, but this is how they checked the car in Denmark Thumbs Up Thumbs Up "57" HSE automatic in black with black leather, tinted glas,Alpina hifi and a lot of extra accessories, chrome handle in and outside, chrome foglight+mirrorcaps+boothandle.Topspoiler
