I would rather end up paying up 」20. A good cold, snowy winter would be welcome after last winters relentless mild, wind and rain.

A chance to try out the winter tyres would be good (grooves not included Whistle ) LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

It's dark nights already here - and a sprinkling of snow outside. One of the only two roads out of here is now closed until next April and it was minus 2ーC last night and a Max day temp of only +7ーC today. Winter - best season of the year. Thumbs Up

How does your weather compare to the same time last year Richard? I understand the snow cover across Russia and Scandinavia has built up more rapidly this year which has a knock on effect apparently. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Doc
Last winter the snow falls started far too early with falls in late September onwards. Day temperatures are too high that early to provide for a good solid base, hence by November the snow had gone below 1,000mtrs. It was a close run but a week before Christmas heavy snow fell and so did both day and night temperatures to ensure it stayed around till March.

This time around we have had only light snow falls so far and the snow line is around 900mtrs. It is far too warm during the day for this snow to survive. And the forecast is not good for the early opening of our ski pistes. However, as is the weather at any time of the year in these mountains - that situation can change overnight. Unlikely though.

Best senario is heavy snow falls in late November and lasting low temperatures around 2 to 3ーC during the day and below zero at night. Then a white Christmas is guaranteed, as well as great skiing conditions.

The link below gives real time representation of current conditions around the globe. I have it set on the MI (Misery Index) which shows current surface temperatures, left click an area to get the temperature details. You can move the globe around with your mouse. Click the word Earth to change settings.

I don't know that its much use but its visually quite interesting.

Steering Wheel heats up an absolute treat Laughing

I think that this will prove to be a very popular mod now that owners know that it can be retrofitted Whistle Foraging near Gaydon....

If you have a model year 2013 FL2 you do not need a new clock spring. Very Happy

What you do need is a heated steering wheel, with the "heating" side switch attached - see nPinks flashing avatar that he likes to display like a kid in a sweet shop, as though he's the only one in the world with a heated steering wheel. Yawn

The two wires to connect/power the new steering wheel heating switch "should" be in place already to connect to your new steering wheel. Usually LR have wrapped it in a grey foam type sheath to hide it. From the pictures I have seen it sits on left hand side of the cavity that holds your existing clock spring in place. If for some reason known only to LR these wires are not there, then Martin the owner of this site has a plug and wires to do this job at only a few Quid delivered.b Thumbs Up

If you need a new heated steering wheel with the switch packs in place I can let you have one at a very advantageous discounted price. Just PM me. Wink

We all now know that the new post MY2012 LR heated steering wheel cannot be "retro fitted" to pre MY2012 FL2's - so why do you continue to report that it can when it can't and misinform members of this forum. It is therefore abundantly clear to others that only you have not understood this fact. Rolling Eyes

And, we all know now following an extensive posting by Ducadim that to have a heated steering wheel on a pre MY2012 you would need to go down the route of the Russian FL2 enthusiast "Master LR" based in Moscow and undertake his very extensive rewiring modification to achieve this. As fellow Russian Freel2 member Ducadim also reported - "to do that you need to be experienced" a.k.a. re auto electronics. Wake up to reality Badger Idea
