1. Comments .......... Yes I have found some people are quick to make quick jibes about bloody 4x4s. It is generally pure ignorance and/or prejudice, as they admit they have no idea about FL2 fuel emissions or MPG! Another success for our pathetic tabloid media who like to simplify issues for the masses, often in such a way as to peddle lies. Most people who've looked over my FL2 are very impressed with it's looks and it's quality feel.

2. Residuals? ......... I agree with others, if this is a major worry to you, probably best not to buy new. However I wouldn't buy a secondhand FL" that is more than 12 months old. Newer ones will include later s/w updates.

Finally, Yer just go do it. You will love the driving experience!!

England

I got rid of my Disco in 2006 (my 4th LR) because of the environmental bad press for 4x4's and concerns over residuals, etc... Big Cry

I bought a Jaguar X type estate instead because my main requirements are safety, buy british and be environmently friendly - as much as possible/within reason! I found the Jag was not up to the job - only 36 mpg instead of 47 claimed and could not cope with a family of 5, a dog and roofbox, etc... Shocked

I looked at the FL2 and knew I had to get one - so got rid of Jag and not looked back. Thumbs Up

It copes with everything I expect without breaking into a sweat - carrying 3 kayaks and gear to waterways, pulling a trailer, roofbox, family of 5 and dog, etc...

It got a 5 star ncap and Shar has proven the safety.

Regarding residual worries I covered that by taking LR APP Finance - at the end of the term I can

1. hand it back and walk away if it is worthless or,
2. trade it in and keep the difference if it is worth more than I owe or,
3. pay the balance if I want to keep it.

The rate is the same has my mortgage/saving rate so not losing out and win win scenario Very Happy

Excellent, but it's the wrong vehicle for gas guzzling!! Laughing

I'll keep my eyes peeled for a shiny new FL2 on Monday then. So if you get flashed by an Ismir Blue, that's me.

Just thought I'd let you know that I took the plunge - I absolutely love it and I have not looked back at all. for anyone else in the same or a similar position - just go for it. Without doubt the best car I have ever owned. Thanks to all on here for your comments.
