I'm relatively lucky then, but it's still a real pain, since car is not perfect any more! I had a Peugeot 306 xsi years ago and it was unlucky car - had to have a panel resrayed in first 2 months of ownership and got crashed into, damaged at least 5 times in the 7 years I had it. Hope this ones not the same!

Noticed another one yesterday just below the last one I found, not a bent this time it's a small chip on the bottom edge of the back wheel arch
Since Emma's been using it to drive to and from work I have collected 3 - 2 dents and a 1 chip

Fixed now ! £350 !!!! At least it looks new again. Where can you park in safety these days ????

Do not park anywhere near where people push supermarket trolleys (that's where the small nicks and bruises come from - errant shopping trolleys with junior in the booster seat, mum (or dad) on the phone pushing while looking at her/his shopping list trying to steer a crippled, loaded trolley with a bent caster wheel).

If you have to park in that situation, at least make sure you're on the flat where the escaped shopping trolley can't roll downhill into a newly painted guard/door/bumper....

Also always shoot for an end bay to park in - that way you're only exposing one vulnerable flank to the door swung open by the shopper-in-a-hurry, using your paintwork as a bump-stop for their door.

Just make sure it's not a muddy Defender, though - some of the hard-arsed brigade seem to harbour a deep-seated hatred for those who impudently sport the green oval without a seeming necessity to have one's kidneys rattled from their mounts or one's eardrums assailed with conversation-killing road and mechanical noise. Nor, for that matter, the necessity of burning unnecessary fuel by carting the extra weight of a seldom-if-ever used transfer case around, nor burning even more fuel by forcing something with the aerodynamics of a block of flats through the air in an attempt to maintain the freeway speeds that the vehicle in fact spends the majority of its life being forced into doing.

In close proximity to one of those you're likely to actually be lined up for a guaranteed denting.

Fixed it when I got home! (Both bumper (already sprayed red) and lights from ebay - total £130 all in )

The dent I got couldn't have come from a trolley though -- it was too high . It was just below the window. Somebody must have dropped something heavy on it - a heavy pole or something.

Have had my FL2 3 months now - first dent last week,Just above where front mud flap fixed..god knows how somebody hit there...metal well creased.GRRR !

Picked up my new-to-me MY10 GS from the LR dealer on a Fri a month ago. By the following Monday it had been keyed.

Our FL2 is just over three years old. We were quite lucky (touch wood) for the first two years, but in the last year I collected two vertical door dings on front near side door, and one on each of the rear door panels. All of them were small with no broken paint.

For fun at the last service I asked the dealer for a quote to put them all right, which came out at just under 1.4k!

I had a bad experience with mobile smart repair companies before so was a bit worried about going down that route again. Did some research on pulling the dents out and bought a cheap glue gun and puller kit from the internet. This did pull the dent out, but left a bigger, more noticeable high mark .

I got in touch with a local PDR guy recommended by a friend who came round, quoted 125 quid for all 4. He came around a week later and in under 2 hours they were all but gone. He had to really point out where the remaining blemishes were for me to see them, and knocked £25 of the bill because he was gutted he couldn't get it perfect.

While chatting to him, he told me that the dealer I had got the quote from had a deal with smart repair company and for the kind of dents I had would have most likely called in a DPR guy. He also had some choice words for the well known smart repair franchise

I've now revised my opinion on mobile repairs - they can work wonders if you find a good one.
