Not long ago you were all for James Madden, in fact you said. "In mitigation, for the last few summers when the met office has guaranteed a barbecue summer, he predicted otherwise and was later proved correct. He also correctly predicted the last 3 winters which have got progressively worse just as the met office said it would be a milder winter last year. Who knows, he may prove to be wrong this time only time will tell but he hasn't got a bad record so far." |

To be honest, the long term forecast are hit and miss no matter who writes them. Forecasters have trouble predicting the weather for tomorrow!

Indeed. Mr Madden got egg on his face when he predicted mega cold and snow for 2011/12 but it was a mild winter with the only snow in February. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

It ill be interesting to see what happens this winter. We are experiencing climate change as a result of global warming (regardless of arguments about its cause) and here in GB we will experience more extreme weather conditions as a result.
