Height - garage door?

Bit of a worry as i'm hoping to get a FL2 tommorow but was thinking about height.
I had a FL1 sport with the 18"s and the hoop things from back to roof and when reversing into garage it would clear just although the long aerial bent/ snapped (forgot to remove it), is the FL2 with 17"s and 18"s taller (no roof bars)?
Don't want to leave it outside but panicing now Sad

All the information is available on www.landrover.co.uk look under Freelander and then specications but to save you the effort the heights are:

With sunroof open 1,775mm
With DAB radio 1,765mm
With roof rails 1,830mm
With roof rails and crossbars fitted 1,850mm

Thanks - website doesn't work Sad
Found some figures on Parkers site which show the FL2 to be slightly lower than the FL1

FL1 - H1808 / W2068 / L4382
FL2 - H1740 / W2195 / L4500

So slightly lower, wider and longer (was 3 door FL1), doesn't say what size wheels/ tyres were fitted so still not 100% sure - will measure the garage door in the morning and hope for a couple of inches tolerance

I have corrected the web link above, I suppose Parker's was easy to type than land rover Laughing

Just in case you decide to buy a bigger car, and you have forgotten to take into account widths too

Size of wheels should not effect hight

A 235/17 or a 235/19 has the same circumference of 235, the difference been the later has 2" more wheel inside the tyre Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Well another wasted trip Mad
Went to see a 57 plate with 48k up at £10971 and what a shed - don't know how a dealer (Ford) can put it on his forecourt
o/s/r door covered in dents, chips, scratches
scratches on other panels
full leather - drivers seat looked as though it had done 200k
interior smelt really bad
4 budget tyres fitted (shows previous owner didn't really care)

on the upside - i measured the garage door and it will fit in with a couple of inches to spare Smile (or rather 1 will fit in but not that 1)

Name and shame the dealer I say! I was looking months for something decent, eventually bought the first one I went to see and highly delighted with the car. Just done a 1,000 mile caravan trip and all was perfect. Audi A4 Avant 2.0 tdi 05 Liquid Blue

Drop the guys at Hadley Green an email with your requirements, they may just be able to find something, nothing to lose, they will look after you too.

Dealer i went to today was Polar ford in bradford - very dissapointed in the condition, looked as though it had just come in this morning as p/x although they've had it in stock over a month?

Someone stopped me in town a couple of months ago and asked me how i kept mine in such good condition as all the ones he had seen secondhand were all scratched up, I just said I looked after mine.

echo Very Happy

It does seem most 4x4 owners either use them off road so don't care about scratches, use them for shopping trips so don't care about dings or have them as company cars so don't bother about anything

It's annoying when dealers advertise them as immaculate and when you get there 1st impressions are they're sheds so it's a wasted trip - why can't they be more honest so as not to waste peoples time and give themselves a bad rep
