Ta Ta to Tata LR

Well ive gone and done it, placed an order for a BMW X3 for delivery in March (currently 5 month lead time to build) I couldnt justify paying way more than I do now for a car that is past its best compared with the competition and the X3 has come in about £50 per month cheaper than what I pay now even though its specced up.

Initial things I prefer over the FL2
- Seats are more comfortable, heavily bolstered sides hold you in tight
- Seat and door inserts can be one of four colours at no cost
- front and rear heated seats including heating steering wheel
- keyless entry means only have to lift door handle to unlock provided fob is in pocket
- hold the fob lock button and windows AND sunroof close!!
- no cheap scratchy plastics like the FL2, dash has premium quality feel
- 9" widescreen satnav screen much more modern to use
- massive sunroof which has an electric sliding cover - no string vest nets like the FL2
- More room in the back
- Much bigger boot and loads of useful storage cubbies and nets to keep things safe
- Powered tailgate
- Fuel consumption will be about 25% better
- 8 speed auto with steering wheel paddles
- centre armrest / cubby - the FL2 should have had one of these as standard a long time ago!

What I will miss
- Driving something made in this country
- This fabulous forum (although I will keep in touch for the FL3 news)
- A spare wheel (X3 has run flats and a bottle of gunk)
- Visiting my dealer every month to fix another fault (have another one already)
- Not getting stuck in the snow - the FL2 really does go everywhere

I still have my FL2 till March so will be hanging around for a while and hopefully when 2017 arrives the FL3 will be out, tried and tested and gremlins fixed and on my radar for a replacement for my X3! Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black
Gone - 2014 BMW X3 M Sport Space Grey, faultless!
Gone - 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Bali Blue with xenons
Gone - 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Rimini Red with bodykit

I lease my car rather than buy but lets just say the Dynamic that I originally wanted with a few extras was £41K, the X3 I am having is £45K yet is £150 a month cheaper to lease. LR are not doing any discounts at the moment even with big leasing companies hence the high prices, I was expecting the FL2 to be much cheaper with the FL2 on the horizon.
