I agree, give a time say a year to I've everyone chance to have the caravan serviced and mot'ed, then provide a mot disc to be displayed

Road side stop and impound any without Thumbs Up

Or link to a data base, link to ANPR any cars that tow, linked to it a long with the make/model of the item towed to prevent wasted stops by the police/vosa Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey

Having just returned from a 5-week 2,900 mile trip across Norway via Denmark and Sweden, I noted that all non-British caravans carry their own registration plates (ie. separate from the tow-car). This legislation seems at odds with the squeaking sounds when they wound their jack legs down, evidence that very few get an annual service. Also, seeing the size of the TA Hobby's, LMC's, Kabe's, Polar's etc, being towed by Passats, 5 series Beemers, C Class & E Class Mercs, no-one pays any attention to the 85% rule. (I even saw a Hobby with a roof rack carrying two canoes!) Maybe an MOT would at least ensure they get serviced each year! 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

I get a service sticker every year when it gets its annual service to stick on the A Frame, some have said that the Boys in Blue do look for the service stickers when you pass them or they pass you, if they see them it may just convince them not to bother you, MOT Sticker could be done with the service. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

France 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Narvik Black

Having watched van after van broken on the M5 in Somerset I think a van MOT would be a great idea....and maybe a road test by the Top Gear team. John

I just think its odd that they are not doing this for all trailers, some of the builders trailers you see, barely a light works, never seen a spanner since it left the factory, and the amount of Compressors you see with Wheel Bearings failed and the wheel 100 yards down the road. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

I do not mind my Caravan being MOT'd, as long as all! Farmers trailers get the same treatment! 1998 300TDi Auto Disco, never to be forgotten.
