Carbon Fibre accessories

Hi guys,

I have just joined the forum, and am awaiting for the delivery of my LR2 (scheduled to be deliverd on March 22).

I would like to know if somebody has got carbon fibre mirror cap and the Facia kit (covering the center console panel) installed for their LR2/Freelander2 and where one could find them.

Cheers!

Bye

Welcome to the boards Thumbs Up

There's a couple of us from Dubai on here, so once you get yours it looks like we'll have to arrange a meet.

Not seen any carbon fibre accessories for the LR2 or FL2, and there are only limited options out there.

Have you gone for teh SE or HSE model? What colour? and any other options? Are you using the showroom on Shk Zayed, if so who's your sales guy?

You should have your own "Dubai" section of the forum just like Austrailia & New Zealand does

Is that 3 FL2's for the Dubai meet then? Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Yep a whole 3 NP!!!! But Calldrop (the other forum member) seems to have dissapeared now Shocked

Partheeh, You have exactly the same spec as me except for the dash trim. The wood I wasn't sure about, and although it would add to the luxery aspect I liked the simple pixel metallic.

I saw there was an Aluminium trim also (not sure if it is available here) which would go nicely with the gear stick trim, but I would be a bit worried about the sun hitting it and blinding you.

I got free 30% tints on mine, see if you can get the same. Thumbs Up

Hi Gambba,

I requested the salesmen to get the 30% tints FOC, has not assured of anything but will try his best. Hey, by the way, if you dont mind how much did you pay for your LR2, i got it for 151k a 4k discount. Also did they give you 3 yr. or 60,000kms free service contract?

The final delivery date is now for March 27. Can't wait.

You got a better deal than me and the other guy that was on here!!! I paid 155k Shocked Big Cry Censored Banging Head

When I ordered mine last October they wouldn't give anything away as they weren't sure of pricing exactly at the time as the 08 was just coming in and had increased from 145k to 155k. I tried real hard and even threatend to buy an X3 (which I wouldn't have) as I have dealings with the dealer in Abu Dhabi, but taht didn't work either.

Maybe things have changed this year and they are feeling more generous, or you have worked miracles!!

I think the tints were 1200DHS normally so you could be pushing it to get them, but definately worth a try, and I only took 30% as I go to Oman and any darker and they wont let you over there.

Keep in touch and we'll head off to some dunes and get some pics for the forum.

Well done Thumbs Up

Hi Parthesh,

You might want to try Orc (www.orc.de) in Germany for Carbon Fibre parts. They do carbon fibre kits for the FL1 including a dashboard kit.

The LR2 was good on the sand, but I didn't prepare for it in anyway, so I didn't push it hard at all for fear of getting stuck. We were just on our way back from R.A.K. after picking up some beer and stuff and thought it might be nice to drive a little offroad.

I tried to make it up this incline (See below) but it would not go without a bit of pushing and as I had not deflated the tyres and had no support I decided I wouldn't push too hard....but it was fun anyway.

On the sandy tracks the car had no problems at all and felt very comfortable.
