It depends on which year you go for. If your go for earlier models the GS will gain options such as auto light/wipers, terrain response, climate control, larger alloys and cloth/half leather.

The XS gives you Sat-Nav, half leather/leather. (I'm not sure what else!)

I hope this helps,

Chris

The older XS did not have Sat Nav, that came when they did away with the SE. XS has front and rear parking sensors, half leather seats, different wheels, upgraded stereo (I think), heated front screen, puddle lamps, ear phone sockets in back and probably a few other bits.

England 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Baltic Blue

Best is to look on www.landrover.co.uk where it explains the differences between each of the current models.

Specifications are constantly changing, for example, the 2013 XS has lost front park sensors, ear phone sockets in the back but has gained full leather seats but manual not electris.

It seems to me that unless you crave leather seats the model to go for is the "S" TD4. About 2 grand cheaper than the GS and 6 grand cheaper than the XS but has all the essentials like Terrain Response and Auto option.

I say this from the perspective of a private buyer and non farmer using proprietary diesel from a high street petrol station and unable to claim any tax write off nor employer subsidy. Smile Smile MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

I didn't think the 'S' had Terrain Response as standard. Does it? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

Terrain response was on option on 4wd 'S' until 2011MY at which point it became standard.

Might be stating the obvious but it's not available on 2wd

Not on our MY10, as it was a cost option when new. But for the £120, I would have paid it....

Re: s, gs, xs

Callanhocknull,
I've owned my 58 S now for around 6 months. If I was to buy another, would go for the XS. Basically for me the manual seats don't have enough lumbar support. Unlike the elec seats on the XS or higher specs. Landy has now gone.
