Freel2 turbo oil leak

I have oil leaking from the airhose coming from the turbo to the intercooler.
This hose runs from the turbo at the back, underneath the engine, to the intercooler in front.
The hose changes from being metal to rubber just in front of the engine.
The leak appears to be on this joint (clamped with a hose clamp)

Shoud there be oil in this airhose, and if yes, is it serious (does it leak in the turbo past the labyrinth seal)?

What is the cause? Can it harm the turbo or engine?

How do I fix this?

The oil is from the the crankcase ventilation system.
The air mixed with oil vapours from the crankcase are inserted into the intake just after the air filter and before that funny "organ pipes".
So yes, there is a small, residual quuantity of oil in all the intake duct, up to the intake valves.
And the positive pressure after the turbo will force the air/oil out where the connections are not proper tightened.
Don't worry, there is no problem. It's normal up to a point.
The abnormality will arise when the oil presence and/or consumption will be appreciable. Then you can suspect the turbo seals.

Thanx Alex. I appreciate your advice and input.
I will try and tighten all the joints on these hoses.
The oil level stays constant on full. No sign of any oil usage.
Doesn`t even smoke.

Then all is OK.
The same is on my car.
Mine leaks on top connection after the organ pipes (strange as here is before turbo but also after the insertion from crankase in direction of the air flow), a little bit where yours leaks and on the connection between the hose and the electronic throttle's body. So I am beating you with 3 to 1... Laughing
But I don't worry, as my oil level is also stationary at full.

Hi Alex,
My Freelander 2 appears to have the same problem as yours (oil leaking from behind the "organ pipes") at the hose connections. How did you fixed yours? Is it enough to tighten the hose seals? Do you have appropriate acces for that from the top, or you need to get under the car?

I didn't fixed it. I've leave it that way. The oil that leaks there is minimal, it doesn't form a drop, just some mess because of the dust/oil mix.

i knew I had a leak below this pipe, and took it as normal seepage

But yesterday, (as Taz and Pegleg will Confirm with fits of laughter) my car started smoking from just below this area

We put it down to a drip of oil, and the engine been under load, as we had just started going up a 30% Slope at hardknot pass in the Lakes when it happened

My guess its back to the dealers for checking out, but hasn't happened again, despite numerous inspections Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

It was a drop formed over time and it fall over the exhaust manifold that is below.
Tighten the hoses and way you go...

Possible, but there is a hose securing screw missing from when the dealer did some work, so I need them to replace that, and they might aswell check it whilst there Thumbs Up

had car at dealers yesterday, booked it in next week for them to investigate, and steam clean the area, says that the current clip, can crack the case and drip, so they might need to put a new one on which is designed to seal and not drip Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Hi Alex,
my 07 has been in for a management light coming on they said it was sticking throttle body. but I also have a oil from the top part of the front part of the engine looks like it comes from the top of the throttle body would this be caused by the sticking throttle flap?

Could be... The oil from the crankcase breather mixed with the carbon recirculated through the EGR could lead to a messy "gunk" that could make the throttle flap sticky...
