Reverse gear lockout failure

My F2 GS manual went back to the dealer recently due to gear selection problems (very "notchy") and failure of the electronic reverse gear selector lockout (which normally prevents selection of reverse at speed). I was told the latter is a common fault - the wire becoming disconnected.
Anyway the lockout has failed again intermittently now, which to me indicates a connection problem.
Where is the cable and connector ? - so I can have a look at it myself. Anyone able to offer advise?

Had a look underneath but being a transverse mounted engine and gearbox its very difficult to see anything due to the steel undertray protecting the engine. Couldnt see anything loose or wires dangling. Didnt have time to take the undertary off to look further. Will ring the Dealers again on Monday.

Good topic,
I had always meant to ask if anyone had managed to go from 5th to reverse but now know it shouldn't be possible (maybe). Out with the old (2007 SE)
In with the new (2012 Dynamic with everything). Now also gone.
