Hey all , when you have filled up with diesel what range do you get on your dash ,filled mine up on thursday full to the brim and it's only giving me a range of 400 miles i don't recall it being that low previously ,so if any of you could check yours next time you fuel up and let me know what reading you get that would be great .

400 ish sounds right, filled up before christmas and had 360 miles in the tank mpg Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

range on dash and actual range are mostly very close if not spot on
around 500 miles

Economy is a much discussed issue on the above thread. I am now getting 500 miles per 60 litres, but I did not start achieveing these figures until I had 3500 miles on the clock, and started reseting both the trips on each refill. The first couple of tankfulls did not achieve 30mpg.

I filled the tank and reset, moved a few yards in car park and it moved from 409 to 430!!, not a reliable test! David

It's also quite easy to get phenomenal average MPG figures just after a fill-up, especially if you choose a filling station on the top of a slight down hill slope.......................... I've had fuel figures that a green just wouldn't believe possible from a 3.6l V8, 3tonne wagon, unfortunately they only last until I decide to press the gas pedal but I've had 99.99mpg showing for about a mile! Modern engine management can reduce the rpm to just above the stalling point on a trailing throttle which helps too
Unfortunately the power of the TDv8 is so easy to use and the exhaust note so addictive that I can soon get it back down to it's more normal 25-29mpg range with a couple of nice fast blats on a decent road  How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Resetting the trip computer whilst doing 40mph in 6th gear on a flat road yeilded 569mpg , if only it was like that all the time eh

Driving over 1000 miles over the christmas/new year only did 30.5mpg so have lost nearly 3mpg since software update  ______________________

i have got my car in the dealers tomorrow, to have the rear view mirror replaced due to it vibrating

Im having them look at the mpg as well, town driving i am getting 22/23mpg and motorway 30/32mpg, this has been way down after the software update.

I would rather them revert back to the previous software version as risk stalling due to the dipping revs Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

It may also be useful to record the average mph when publishing these figures to help us work out why threre appears to be such a variance in mpg and the software release. GS TD4 All Black
