This I only found out over the weekend...Stratstone wrote in the first year service when I bought mine there last year...it's unlikely that Lancaster's will now honour it, as "goodwill" probably won't cover that.  Foraging near Gaydon....

UPDATE:

Spoke to the DP of Lancasters tonight, who advised as predicted that they couldn't honour the Stratstone deal, which I was half expecting.

He did offer a 25% discount as a gesture of goodwill, which I was about to accept, when I noticed that they had increased the price of an oil change to a whopping £523!!!

I shall continue my pursuit of Stratstone's, although I am not holding my breath. Foraging near Gaydon....

The Brand Director of Stratstone (Southern) has got in touch and resolved this very quickly.

Whilst they have no record of the first service being included in the sale, in the interests of goodwill and future business, Stratstone Aylesbury will be servicing the vehicle at the end of June as agreed with the Burnham Dealership at the point of sale.

I will update this thread regarding feedback after the event. Fingers crossed that they do a good job.  Foraging near Gaydon....

Caffyns Lewes just carried out 3rd service (A) and charged £362. Initially they quoted £415 but matched price given by Harwoods. I wanted the gear linkage lubricated too, which they did and they have also tightened the handbrake which I didn't ask for but it feels much better now. Car has been cleaned and hoovered so I'm a happy bunny. _________________

As I would rather poke my eyes out with a blunt pencil before I went near to Stratstones again does anyone here know of any Independent in Gloucestershire they would recommend for servicing / maintenance?

No I don't think so. I can't see it on the bill and they haven't ticked the brake fluid box in my service book. Is that part of the 'A' service they should have done ? _________________

Brake fluid should be change every 3 years, it's not part of the actual service. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Just bought the A service kit plus 6L Oil & Brake fluid total £71 approx , ready for 3rd year service so just labour to pay (hopefully) .

I have just had my 3rd service, done to B spec, including brake fluid change, £175. Inc vat and parts. At my local garage who I have used for all my mots etc, very happy with the service and cost.

Got my service parts from dan @ duckworths , and then just oil and labour.


Booked in at guy salmon Sheffield for its free mot for life on Thursday .

Was that an independant LR garage or just a general one ? , mine is due its 3rd service (A)/mot in Dec this year and still under LR warranty till Feb 14 so just weighing up where to take it . Did you consider Guy Salmon for the service with your parts ?
I also have dans service parts plus engine/brake oils .

Just had a quote from Copley Halifax for 3rd service/mot/brake fluid change with me providing oils & parts , comes out at £301 , does that seem reasonable ?
