Just had a 45k service on a 2010 FL2 for £232 all in at local independent LR specialist Evans Garage near Dorchester. They even checked the brake fluid for moisture content and said it didn't need changing. They charge £55/hour plus vat. Recommended.

2011 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Galway Green

Just booked mine into Guava in Guildford, Surrey for a third service for £323. Another £55 for brake oil change.

Hunters Guildford were quoting £416.

Wimbledon Land Rover were a bit cheaper for service @ £316 but wanted £96 for the brake oil change. FL2 2011 SD4 XS in Galway Green

ive just had a quote for a 4 year service of £440 Shocked Shocked (less 10%) - and its only done 3k miles in the past 12month Laughing

however, just bought the service kit and oil off internet for £110!

from experience servicing the old D3, the fuel filter change can be a bit of a pain. Any advice on how to change it. I must admit ive not even looked to see where it is yet!

EDIT - located a few posts, changing seems easy but needs priming

Hi, may I reccomend first to search on here for the Oil Filter change as you will benefit from buying a ratchet spanner with hinged floppy head. The Diesel Filter is mechanically a doddle to fit but the trick is filling it. I use a plastic pipe fitted to the drain outlet and use it like a hockey stick with a small funnel so it fills from the 'dirty side' bottom to top; very easy and no costly balloon pump.
.
Be prepared to swear a bit whilst doing the oil filter change.
.
Whilst doing the service you will benefit later if you sort the the brakes now. At the rear remove the discs, dismantle the handbrake shoes to get the floppy actuator link out. Work the link parts free then apply copper grease and keep on working it to get the grease into the joint well before wiping the surface dry. Next unscrew the adjuster and fully wire brush before copper greasing on re-assembly. Finish the drum part of the disc by knocking off the corrosion lip and use a sanding drum in the drill to buff the corrosion off the drum wearing surface.
Reassemble and set up. At the front remove the pads and scrape of the rust crust of the cradle where the pad ears slide. Smear with a little copper grease at the pad ears.
.
Servicing the car yourself if you are competent will be time well spent.
.
Kind regards from Fred
.

thanks, pad and discs already done. Thumbs Up

found some fuel filter threads and will probably make up a pump - ive still got some fuel filter pipe connectors from when I dismantled my D3, so they may fit the FL2 filter - hopefully.

Topic resurrection!

Oil Service due, visit dealer notification came on this week. Cars covered ~14k miles since last service back in May so seems about right for its ~35k service.

Called Gordon Lamb in Chesterfield to get a quote, was pleasantly surprised for it to be £320 including courtesy car for the day (Freelander 2 or above...). Even more surprised when it because £265 when I mentioned that the other half works for the NHS.

Seems....worryingly cheap for a Stealer Service? Shocked
