No that isn't the issue. It happens when I am working on site driving over bumpy ground. Thanks for trying.

Embarassed However; upon reflection, this may be the issue. When I am on site, I also get in and out a lot more? I tried a test of driving around over bumps to see what happened, and the evidence was inconclusive. I'm on to LR customer services, because either way it is not fit for purpose.

i found out by driving a 2 and half hour trip up to northumberland.

pumped the seat right up and once there tried to pump it up and no movement as fully pumped up!

i then got in and out of the car a good number of times.

checked again and indeed it had dropped.

just put your hand under your leg when first stepping out, you will find that your leg depresses the handle downwards.

hence the seat dropping issue!

Still bad design...... Whistle Anyhoo off oot on me mobike.....

A nice guy from the German LR-Forum has made a simple and easily removable blocker for the height-adjustment of the seat. He was so friendly to offer this gadget for little money to co-suffering GS-Drivers Wink Scroll down a little bit after opening the link and you will see the pics

Unfortunately, it is not possible to see the pictures from the German forum without registering Shocked
I wanted to attache them to a message here, but I can't figure out, how to do it. Simple copying&pasting in the message field seem not to function here.[/img]

LR dealer who done my last service placed a small section of wood wrapped in gaffer tape under the handle...at first I thought it just improved the dropping issue, but since i've not bothered to take it back in for some time I have to confess to the problem being cured. I haven't pumped the seat back up for thousands of miles and I use it off road on stubble fields etc. as well.

If your car is out of warranty this will cure the dropping issue without fail Thumbs Up Obviously it needs to be removed to lower the seat but being as i'm the only driver it causes me no hassle. If anyone needs the dimensions let me know and i'll fish out the tape measure.
