Mine reverse sneezes at times (probably a few times a month) and its frightening watching her stomach heave in and out, then its all over Sad
Been to the vets and she didn't make anything of it after checking her out, does it on occasions since we had her (4 years now) with no after effects.
The damn internet can cause any person to think the worse, but I still look up everything.

I personally think its an irritation and the way a dogs respiratory tract is that allows it to happen.

Mine rarely sneezes but I still think its an irritation, maybe a seed or similar from the fields is stuck in the nose, pays to visit the Vet to be certain.

Susie sneezes a lot. If I take her for a lead walk, her nose is never more than a couple of mm from the ground, sniffing everything. I'm convinced she sniffs up stuff that irritates her nasal passage and makes her sneeze. I've seen her sniff up dandelion seeds complete with the little white parachute things as well as the odd bit of toy stuffing when she's been a bit rough with them. My trick for clearing her out if she is sneezing a lot is to let her have a few running dives into a local lake or stream to retrieve a ball. She normally gets a nose or throat full of water which seems to clear her out after she's coughed/sneezed it out!

Bath!!! We did away with the warm water. He gets jetted down with a hosepipe and hates it. Doesn't hate jumping into muddy freezing pools though does he lol

It has to be really bad to consider the vet (other than his annual infections that is). About 18 months ago we woke up and he had collapsed and his foot had ballooned up. Had to rush him to the vet then. Lucky we did - he had to have an emergency operation as one of those corns husk things had got embedded between his toes and he had a reaction.

It's a bit like kids. You have the first one and you are at A&E every other week. You have the second kid and the poor beggar simply suffers lol.

bit sneezy this morning, but didn't seem to be as runny, so keeping an eye on him for a day or so then vets if no improvement, he doesn't seem to be in any pain or discomfort Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Spaniels sneeze as a natural matter of course to clear their nasal senses when sniffing things out.

Normal sneezing while out in the fields/woods is normal behaviour and nothing to be concerned about.

reverse sneezing is obviously something more and for a vet to diagnose I would guess.

(I have a 10 year old working stock english spaniel, my brother had a working stock sprocker and now has a working stock cocker 10 week old pup, and my mum has a working stock year old cocker)

Most weekends now booked up for shoots for the season, looking forward to it this year. Should have some downtime between drives to take some muddy pics.

That's become my benchmark test before running Susie off to the vets - have learned some needlessly expensive lessons during our 3+ years of ownership!
