You are standing outside a closed door. On the other side of the door is a room that has three light bulbs in it. The room is completely sealed off from the outside. It has no windows and nothing can get in or out except through the door. On the outside of the room there are three light switches that control each of the respective light bulbs on the other side of the door.

Your assignment is to determine which light switch controls which light bulb. You are allowed to enter the room only once, and once you come out, you must be able to state with 100% certainty which light switch controls which light bulb.

Re bulbs and switches:
Remember that line: Look but don't touch. Touch, but don't taste. Taste, but don't swallow.
If you are a true believer, then it's impossible to solve.
If not, then, by touching, it's easy.
What could be the conclussion? Evil or Very Mad Laughing

i no cheaty, if i had i wouldn't have waffled on about treadmills and airflow all yesterday

I knew the solution to the lightbulb one as it was done at the office

switch it on, wait a while, turn it off and switch another on, go in the room, you feel for the warm one unlit bulb and know what switch worked that, obviously one switch is still on, so you know the other switch is for the remaining light

It dosn't say you can't open the door it just says you can only enter once the moral of this puzzle is that there is a nice easy way and there is a longer more complicated way but with one of the solutions you will get your fingers burnt Laughing
