Had a similar problem last week when I forgot I had a glass bottle of fizzy water in the rear door pocket. Fortunately when the glass broke it was all contained in the door pocket and I found it before it started to thaw, would have given me a hell of a fright if it had happened while I was driving. Partially filled plastic bottles only from now on. |

That's a good point about de-icer, I would think there'll be a temperature range on the can for safe storage? Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

de-icer is glycol ethenol type stuff and shrinks on cooling.

Interesting thread and thank goodness I read it now - Just remembered I had a pressurised can of Tyre repair stuff in the boot with the spare since summer and which is now safely indoors (just in case)
