Thought I'd been blasted with double barrelled Shotgun

Minus 11degrees this morning and had difficulty starting after scraping all the ice off.
8.30am and drove down the road at 20mph, went around the bend, passed parked cars then BANG and what a bang it was, more of an explosion as there was glass everywhere. All over the seats Roof lining, dashboard,
Last time I saw this was when my windscreen had imploded due to extreme heat.
Conviced I had been the victim of a mistaken ID shootout I drove off before pulling into a side road to examine the damage.
Front Windows intact, side and rear intact so where had the glass come from...the sun roofs...no they were OK.
Got out of the car and looked around expecting to see shot damage to the body. but no nothing to see.
So where has all this glass come from...hold on it's rusty.. you dont get rusty glass.
so I picked some up off my seat...It was Ice.
where had all this Ice come from, convinced it had something to do with Airbags I drove home to phone Landrover.
Got the Henry Vac out to hoover all the Ice away before it melted and stained the interior.
Opened the Rear door to start in the back and there it was.....
2 cans of Coca Cola had frozen inside the door pocket and both has exploded with unbelievable consequences.
Hence the simulated double barrelled shotgun scenario.
Went into the boot area and found that a Stainless Steel water bottle had also split from top to bottom though still frozen no damage was caused by this.
All items were carried for the eventuallity of being stuck somewhere overnight.
Never again will I carry Gassed drinks and water bottles will only be filled 3/4 full to allow fro expansion.
Still, never thought that they would have frozen inside the car, never had this in over 50 years driving.
Took 5 hours for my nerves to get back to normal. . Offset your Carbon emissions by boycotting Baked Beans and all Green Vegitables.

Think I got most of it up with the Vac while still in Ice form, otherwise a sticky mess might have summed it up. Offset your Carbon emissions by boycotting Baked Beans and all Green Vegitables.

HOPING I GOT IT ALL BUT AM QUITE AN EXPERT AT REMOVING MARKS/grease/stains etc from material and Leather.
It is only the sugar base that remains sticky.. what I am concerned about though is the Asidic content, just have to wait until the snow clears and I can spend a bit more time cleaning up. Offset your Carbon emissions by boycotting Baked Beans and all Green Vegitables.

Laughing Laughing
Very funny,right on my wavelenght.

Just had a thought hough trying to think of a witty reply...The cans were sugar free Diet ones.
So that brings into question, will a sticky residue remain and,
If there is no sugar to attract the ants, how do you cope with a starving Ant Eater running amok in a FL? Offset your Carbon emissions by boycotting Baked Beans and all Green Vegitables.

You'll all hate me now...

I almost had the same experience a few summers ago.
I heard a loud noise, thought something had gone wrong in the car.
Pulled over and looked around the area the noise had come from.
Turned out my coke can was about to burst. I wont leave cans in the car on a hot day in the garage anymore!

Needless to say, I quickly disposed of it...
