I thought Topix was only available to the trade?

You can register for TOPIx. As far as I can recall you have to register as an indie repairer, which it is quite happy with, then you enter your car's details. To get any real information you need to pay them money though. I understand it's possible to buy a one-day subscription and download all the info. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

Mmmm... I've tried to get the TPMS to activate.

Last night I checked and set the pressures in 3 tyres, set the 4the at 5psi low and went for a drive - nothing showing up.

Tonight I let another 3+ out of the 1 tyre, only drove a couple of miles but still no warning.

I know the system is active because it's flagged up before, I just can't remember exactly what it showed.

More experiments required.

Good stuff!

So I need to correct an earlier assumption.

Although there are umpteen different TPMS options, in fact only three of them were ever used on the Freelander 2 out of the factory.

As it turns out the Freelander 2's (LR2's) sold in the US have all had TPMS in them since the first models in 2006/2007, because of US regulations requiring TPMS on SUV's (anyone remember the Ford Explorer Firestone saga?)

The US LR2's run a different TPMS setting than those in the UK, the 2015MY ones i've checked anyhow, which would probably explain why it doesn't identify the particular wheel if pressure is low, apart from the spare.

The TPMS in Stu's car is currently set to the USA TPMS mode. For whatever reason the mode used on the UK 2015MY cars was not available to choose, it just wasn't there to select, unless it has been named differently in the file.

Well obviously the USA TPMS mode does indeed show which wheel/s are low, I guess it just needed a little more time to get itself figured out. Implausible as that is... 2008 Freelander 2 HSE Si6 Black/Black - Hers

Without going into a long explaination the "key" here is the spare tyre.
You must either enter the code in manually or dissable the monitoring of the spare - SDD this is done by.
And a uninterrupted drive for 10 minutes above 25kph for the ECU to learn the locations when changed. Whistle

Haha, no, that's the reason why it has stored codes as if someone else was to rock up at a set of lights besides you, also with TPMS, the system could read those also and Infact it does/can. But because the system has already allocated specific codes to the cars wheels it rejects the data being received.
There was no provision for entering in any more than 5 codes for the vehicle on SDD. It wouldn't cover the tyre whilst being stored but if that wheel was out on as a running wheel and has a TPMS sensor i guess it would learn the code and be covered whilst being a running tyre.
The reason my car spat the TPMS dummy was that initially the spare had not been entered. Bit hard to explain, the LR system is quite sophisticated and unlike a lot of other manufacturers it does cover the spare and is able to learn if tyres have been rotated/spare being used.
This is a small exert from the service manual.

How much pressure did you have to let out for the system to activate?

I dropped the front right to 25psi and the graphic was up when I looked at the dash so not sure at what pressure it appeared.
I seem to remember somewhere in the owners manual it says a 25% reduction in tyre pressure or rapid deflation i.e. blowout. The sensors are triggered to emit continual pulses on rapid deflation. MY15

Ok, thanks.

I don't think I'd let enough out when I was testing!

Working on getting a bit more information out of the TPMS on the Freelander 2 and possibly displaying target pressures and actual pressure as on MY15 Disco onwards.
Got this message up so were making some progress.
This was 6 field change so very close yet so far Big Cry Shocked MY15

You fixed the problem, but you didn't publish the CCF fields to edit.
I need this information. Why don't you publish them? Australia or UK market is not important. It is important to specify the modified fields. Thank you Freelander 2 Y13 TD4 SE - Alaska White
